Love ballet? Have always wanted to take ballet? Either way, this class is for you. Join us for a fun, inspirational class with beautiful music while learning classical ballet technique, strengthening your core, and tapping in to your creative side. Improve your posture, balance, and muscle tone. Whether you’re a true beginner or a seasoned dancer for life, there is room for you at the barre!  No class on September 4.

BUILDING BLOCKS: INVERSION WORKSHOP
Join Kelly Bond-Osorio as you put your heart above your head, both literally and figuratively, and reap all the benefits inversions can offer! Stimulate circulation, strengthen your core, improve mental awareness, and calm the mind! Inversions can be some of the most empowering and beneficial postures in yoga, asking us to move through our fears to see the world from a different perspective. Following a thorough warm-up, we’ll study simple inversions such as uttanasana (standing forward bend) as well as the more advanced sirsasana (headstand)—and many in between—taking the time build our alignment from the ground up, or from the top down, depending on your perspective! A fun and engaging workshop designed to suit all levels of yoga practitioners, although some experience with yoga is recommended. Learn techniques to put you at ease as you turn your world upside down!

NIA DANCE
Nia cardio-dance workouts combine the dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts to get you fit in 60 minutes - body, mind, emotion, and spirit. Nia is a welcoming community that encourages dancing in your body's way; it is non-impact and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. No class on September 20.

PULSEPOINT BARRE
Pulsepointe Barre class is a high energy total body workout choreographed to the beat of motivating music that will instantly put you ""in the zone"". This class uses a combination of postures inspired by ballet, yoga and Pilates to sculpt, slim, and lengthen your entire body. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing strength training movements that target a specific set of muscles combined with isometric movements. The class incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work.
No experience required! Low impact, so it's easy on joints!

SUMMER IN ISRAEL FITNESS CHALLENGE
Get active at the JCC this summer and mark your workouts on a map of Israel. Take this 12-week fitness challenge by exercising at JCC three days a week. Move from one destination on the map to the next as your weekly activities are recorded.

POSTURAL ALIGNMENT ASSESSMENT
Do you suffer from back pain due to bad posture? Laura Ates, Master yoga teacher will access your postural alignment from head to feet. Students will mindfully restore the spine to its natural and relaxed position while releasing stress and tension. Those who sit or stand all day will enjoy a newly revived spinal awareness, reducing the risk of future postural complaints.
