Author, consultant and international cheese expert Liz Thorpe discusses the evolution of small scale dairying and cheesemaking in the United States, with a particular focus on the American South. From Texas to Kentucky to Virginia, artisan cheese represents an increasingly powerful commodity for saving struggling dairy farms, while inspiring new generations of Americans to return to agricultural businesses and lifestyles. SENIORS ON THE GO: NOCCA
Our next Seniors on the Go excursion takes us to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, also known as NOCCA. We will begin with lunch at the Press Street Station, an on-site restaurant which is run by the NOCCA culinary arts program. After lunch, we will be given a tour of the school and gardens.
