BBYO & BBYO CONNECT
Sunday, April 2
11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Join us for J-Serve! J-Serve is the International Day of Jewish Youth Service. It provides teens with the opportunity to fulfill the Jewish values of gemilut chasidim, acts of loving kindness, tzedakah, just and charitable giving, and tikkun olam, the responsibility to repair the world. Across the globe, teens will join each other to make their community and the world a better place.
Locally, Jewish teens from BBYO and JewCCY in grades 7-12 throughout New Orleans will learn and volunteer with Our School at Blair Grocery, a fully functioning urban farm and food justice academy in the heart of Lower Ninth Ward that helps educate young people about environmental sustainability and hires local neighborhood youth to grow and sell food for the community. Transportation, lunch and service hours will be provided!
WHAT IS BBYO?
BBYO is a youth-led, worldwide group that provides opportunities for teens to develop their leadership potential. With the support of peers, participants commit to personal growth while cultivating their Jewish identity. BBYO includes out-of-town conventions, weekend programs, community activism, volunteer opportunities and many other activities for high school students.
BBYO Connect is the BBYO experience made just for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students offering social and meaningful experiences that will serve as a gateway to continued involvement in Jewish life. Trips to amusement parks and ballparks, pool parties and paintball are just some of the ways BBYO Connect brings fun to life for Jewish kids like you.
