Our community embraces children through education, sports and family activities. Located in the Uptown JCC, the JCC Nursery School has acted as a pillar of early childhood education in New Orleans for over half-a-century. Outside of the Nursery School, Preschool age children can participate in Early Childhood Enrichment classes, sports programs, family activities, summer camps and more.

Join the Waiting List

See for yourself what makes the JCC Nursery School so special...

Come visit the JCC Nursery School! We will hold an Open House for prospective parents on January 23. Additionally, beginning on October 10 and running through May 8, weekly tours will be given on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM. Reservations are not necessary. When planning your visit, please note that tours will not be available on the following dates due to holiday closures: November 21, December 26, January 2, February 13, March 6 and March 27.

We invite you to attend an Open House or Wednesday morning tour. As you tour the facility, see our teachers in action and watch our curriculum come to life, you'll understand all of the things that set our nursery school apart and make it so very special!

Classes at the JCC Nursery

Finding the right class for your child poses dilemmas for every parent. Do you want your toddler to be the oldest in his or her class? What does it mean to be the youngest among a group of Pre-K students? Do boys and girls face different hurdles? Should a child attend school five days a week? No test can answer those questions. But the experienced, professional teachers and staff of the JCC Nursery School can help smooth the path for children of different abilities and temperaments.

The JCC keeps teacher-student ratios small, matching those of accredited schools nationwide. With tailored classroom activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of individual children, the JCC offers a range of attendance options based on age, with three- and five-day-a-week programs.

Our program features:

  • Jewish Culture
  • Social Interaction
  • Ethical Teaching
  • Creative Arts and Cooking
  • Language Development
  • Science
  • Story & Circle Time
