Special Interests: ACE  ACE - Alzheimer’s Care and Enrichment Program Alzheimer's Care and Enrichment Program better known as ACE, is a respite program designed specifically for people with Alzheimer's Disease or related conditions. • ACE meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00AM - 2:00PM Fee: $20 per day  For the caregivers, ACE affords time for replenishment and the peace of mind that their relative is well-cared for and involved in a stimulating and pleasurable environment. Monthly support groups are offered along with information and referral to community resources.For the participant, ACE offers a sense of community and connection with others, along with a wide range of activities including art, music, meal preparation and weekly visits with the nursery school children. A minimum 1:3 ratio of staff/ volunteers to participants is provided. All staff/volunteers receive special training.
This affordable fee is made possible by funding from the United Way and the in-kind support of the JCC. The National Council of Jewish Women-Greater New Orleans Section has kindly provided annual donations and volunteers. |
