"Mekimi" with Rabbi Josh via Zoom

As we enter the month of Elul, the month of "teshuvah", of repentance, we will be watching and exploring the themes of teshuva in the hit Israeli TV show "Mekimi". Mekimi is based on the true story of a Tel Aviv TV host, a secular Jew who feels that something is missing from life — who slowly finds what she’s looking for when she and her boyfriend decide to become extremely religious.

The show consists of five, hour-long episodes, which we will watch and discuss. Following the model of the Shtisel 101 class, each episode will be preceded by a short opportunity to learn about an area of Jewish practice that appears in that evening's episode. The show is available on Amazon Prime; subscription to Amazon Prime (or a free trial) is recommended to watch.
