Were you a camper when you were growing up? If so, where?
I attended camp one year at Shaw High School when I was 7 or 8, but I was a part of recreational and travel baseball, a club-based league, for over a decade, which in many ways felt like a camp. Through it, I experienced the same sense of camaraderie, shared purpose, excitement, and an incredible amount of fun, similar to the feeling you get from camp.
What is your favorite thing about camp?
This is tough because there are so many great things. I have worked at the JCC for nine years now, so I have experienced a lot. If I had to choose my top reason for working at camp, it would be that I get to watch kids grow into their individuality, something they discover through new experiences and new people. Each year, I meet new kids, and when they return the following year, they have grown into young adults with new opinions, beliefs, and interests. I love learning about them, mentoring them, and being someone they can look to for guidance.

Stressed? If you're feeling it, chances are your child is feeling it too. You know the signs; when your mind starts racing and your heartbeat starts racing, your tendency is to get louder and faster. But what you and your body and your child need is for things to slow down and start making sense.
