Athletic Facilities

Fitness Center
Whether your goal is to build strength and flexibility, increase your endurance, pursue a rehabilitation program, or simply to relax, the JCC’s up-to-date Fitness Center includes all the equipment you need for a great workout. Professional trainers can guide you through a personal routine and always welcome questions. They are accustomed to working with athletes of varied ages and fitness levels and they will make sure you get the most out of equipment that includes resistance machines and the latest cardiovascular training.

The air-conditioned gymnasium contains a full-size court for basketball or volleyball and can be sub-divided for other games. Impact-absorbing Mondo flooring makes it a great space.

Indoor Track
Designed for walkers and runners, our three-lane indoor track features the same impact-absorbing Mondo flooring that has become standard at many Olympic events.

Aerobics/Indoor Cycling Studio
This 1,500 square foot aerobics studio has impact absorbing Mondo flooring for a great aerobic workout.

Swimming Pool (Open from May-September)
Our outdoor pool consists of six, 25-yard lanes. A separate wading pool is available for toddlers and preschool children.

With 18,000 square feet of elbowroom, this multi-use outdoor area accommodates everything from flag football to youth soccer.

Men’s and Women’s Family Locker Rooms
Located beside the pool and gymnasium, the locker rooms include separate bathrooms, showers and lockers for the whole family, plus a separate area for adults only. Mini-lockers are available to secure valuables.

Babysitting Room
The JCC provides babysitting services for members who are using the fitness center. This popular service is by appointment and a modest fee is charged.

Children's Facilities

Game Room
Open to JCC members ages 8 and up, this supervised drop-in center provides a safe place for kids to hang out with friends — and meet others. Equipped with a host of table games, including ping-pong, pool, bumper pool, the game room also provides space for quieter pursuits. Here kids make their own fun, whether that means honing chess skills, watching a favorite TV show or playing Wii.

Small, secure and full of fun equipment, this playground is a big attraction for kids.

 Meeting & Activity Areas

Combining a cafeteria, a small auditorium and a beautiful view, this space is equipped for many activities including meetings, birthday parties and more.

The JCC operates a state-of-the-art supervised kosher kitchen for group meals and public events.

Multi-purpose Room
Used for specialty classes, community events and childcare, this is one of the center’s most popular spaces.

Finding Your Fit Foods

Creating a lifestyle, rather than a diet, will give you the flexibility to make healthy choices while still enjoying what you eat. Sometimes the hardest part about eating healthfully is simply knowing what will taste good without packing on the pounds. Check out some of the healthy recipes recommended by Metairie Wellness Director Alexis Boudreau to get started and get cooking!
