Alon Shaya Lead 2018 Kindness March

Annual Kindness March Emphasises Treating Others Well

Campers created signs and made their own kindness chants for the march, which celebrates the Jewish values of chesed and gemilut hasadim. In addition to promoting a positive camp culture emphasizing acting kind and treating others well, the march teaches campers that they can be a force for change by speaking out and showing adults how to make the world a kinder place.

Camp Director Carolyn Shillinglaw says Shaya was invited to serve as Grand Marshal because of his demonstration of kindness through his company, Pomegranate Hospitality. “Through his company’s mission statement, Alon emphasizes the importance of furthering love and respect for each other,” Shillinglaw said. “He is a shining example of treating others with kindness and making the world a better place. Plus, we all love his pita bread!” Indeed!
