JCC is the place to be on Saturday nights for young dancers in grades 5, 6 and 7! Kids from all over the community come to the Uptown JCC for our monthly Sock Hops. Each dance features a live DJ and a snack bar stocked with soda, candy, pickles, and popcorn for sale.

Advanced tickets may be purchased during regular business hours at both the Uptown and Metairie campuses. If purchasing the day of the event, tickets will be available at the Uptown campus from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Fitness Desk, which can be accessed through the Leontine Street entrance. *In the event of a sold out dance, JCC Members will not be turned away at the door. Non-members are encouraged to purchase tickets prior to the dance.

October marks the one year anniversary for the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Dance for Parkinson’s Program at the New Orleans JCC. This award-winning program takes place every Wednesday with instruction from the New Orleans Ballet Association.

Rosh Hashanah - “head of the year”- commemorates the creation of the world. Traditionally, apples and honey are eaten to represent our hope for a sweet year of health and peace. Dipping apples in honey is delicious, and here are few creative recipe suggestions to help kick this duo up a notch....
