Research proves the lifelong importance of exercising body and mind. The JCC offers sports and wellness programs that help you achieve just that. We offer sports leagues throughout the year, including basketball and flag football, as well as other fun and challenging games. Questions? Contact Neal Alsop (Uptown) or PJ Jones (Metairie).
|Basketball Leagues Uptown Only|
There are two basketball leagues at the Uptown JCC:
Each league runs three seasons (spring, summer, and fall) and consist of 10 regular season games and a single elimination playoff.
*Before the start of the spring league, members can purchase a “League Pass” which is a discounted registration price to participate in the league for the year.
Play a game or shoot some hoops during pick-up basketball - no registration is required. Free for members. Regular guest fees apply for non-member.
*Each Sunday at the Metairie campus, guests are invited to get some cardio and play in a pick-up game with scoreboard and running clock. Teams play to 15 points. See posted gym rules for additional information. No charge to play for members. Regular guest fees apply for non-members.
|Flag Football Uptown Only|
Flag football is a variation of tackle football, except there is no physical contact between players. Each player wears a set of flags and are pulled by the opposing team to signal a “tackle.” The league is offered twice a year (fall and spring).
One of the fastest growing sports in the country, Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Played as singles or doubles, two or four players use solid paddles to hit a Wiffle ball over a low net. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to join us in the gym for Pickleball! Free for members. Regular guest fees apply for non-member.
*Weekday pickleball will resume in the Fall.
