Uptown Mini Camps

During the school year and before and after JCC Summer Camp, the JCC offers Mini Camps for both our preschool aged children and youth and teens to coincide with holidays and special days off. Flexible enrollment allows members to sign up by the day or the week. Camp hours are 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Before and after care are available.

JCC membership is required to enroll in Mini Camps. Learn more about membership.

PLAY AT THE J

Grades: K - 5
Play with old and new friends while enjoying art, swimming and games. Bring a bagged lunch, swim-wear and closed-toed shoes so you can take part in all of the fun. No money or electronics, please.

Thanksgiving November 19 - 21

TRIP CAMP

Grades: K - 5
Be thankful that the JCC has a mini camp Monday - Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Go on field trips, play games and sports, make crafts, hang out with friends, and meet some new buddies at the Center. Wear tennis shoes and bring a lunch everyday. After care is not available on Wednesday.  Register Now or Download Form

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINI CAMP
Open only to 2018-2019 JCC Nursery School Students

Ages: 1 and 2
Spend the day at the JCC playing with friends. 

Ages: 3 to 5
Children will engage in enriching activities centered around popular storybooks. The Jewish Community Center’s Early Childhood mini camps, directed by our professional nursery school staff, are designed to enhance the preschool experience for your young child.

It’s time for our annual Winter Trip Camp. Campers will go on field trips every morning and spend lunch and the afternoon at the Center. It’s a great opportunity to hang out with friends from camp and meet some new buddies. No camp on December 25 or January 1. Register Now or Download Form

Mardi Gras March 6 - 8

Looking for something to do now that Mardi Gras is over? Come play at the J! We’re going to have lots of fun playing games and sports, making springtime crafts, hanging out with friends, and meeting new buddies at the Center. Wear tennis shoes and bring a lunch every day. Ages: 1 and 2
Have fun participating in art, water play, and a variety of activities. Send your child to camp with sunscreen already applied. Also, bring a bathing suit, towel, swim diapers and lunch every day.

Ages: 3 to 5
Campers will engage in a variety of play and water activities. Send your child to camp in his or her bathing suit with sunscreen already applied. Also, bring a towel, rest mat and lunch every day.

Grades: Entering K to 5
Get the summer started! Campers will go on field trips every morning and swim in the afternoon. A great opportunity to hang out with friends from camp and meet some new buddies. Please wear sneakers, bring lunch, swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen.

AQUATICS MINI CAMP 

Grades: Entering 1 - 6
Work on skills during instructional swim, participate in water activities, and end the day with free swim. Dry land activities are also included. Must be able to swim independently and must be potty trained. Register for the week or by the day. Participants bring a swim suit, towel, suntan lotion and a lunch daily.

BALLET AND CREATIVE MOVEMENT SPECIALTY CAMP
Open only to 2019 campers  

Ages: 4 to 6
Our tiniest dancers will enjoy a fun-filled morning of creative movement and dance-related activities including story time and crafts projects. In addition to ballet and tap basics, campers will learn appropriate stretches and develop their musicality through movement and rhythm exercises. Leotard, tights and ballet shoes are encouraged but not required. Tap shoes are optional.  Registration is for the entire week only.

BRICKS 4 KIDZ®  MINI CAMP
Grades: K to 5
What can you build with Legos? In this new minicamp let your imagination run wild. Create towers, robots, cars; the options are endless. Build in the morning and play with all your JCC friends in the afternoon.

The JCC is partnering with world renowned Coerver Coaching to offer a week-long camp that focuses on individual skills and small group play.

LEARN TO DRAW MINI CAMP
Grades: K to 5
Love to draw? Think you're no good at it? Young Rembrandts will bring out the best in every child! Learn how to draw step by step and create beautiful masterpieces. Young Rembrandts offers children a chance to develop skills, confidence, and knowledge. Campers will enjoy art in the morning and swim in the afternoon.

Dance for Parkinsonís Celebrates One Year

October marks the one year anniversary for the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust Dance for Parkinson’s Program at the New Orleans JCC. This award-winning program takes place every Wednesday with instruction from the New Orleans Ballet Association.

We love to celebrate here at the JCC, and we also look for any opportunity to be creative. Join us for a coloring break in The Nosh of the Uptown JCC for National Coloring Book Day on August 2.
