The Uptown JCC will participate in Myzone’s Global MEPs Challenge, which gives members the chance to win up to $500. All you have to do for a chance to win is use your Myzone belt and hit the 1300 MEPs milestone during the challenge period (June 1, 2019 - June 30, 2019). If you win, so does the JCC!

Cash prizes:

6 x $500 for members and 6 x $500 for facility

10 x $200 for members and 10 x $200 for facility

100 x $100 for members and 100 x $100 for facility

Tips for hitting 1300 MEPs:

Myzone doesn’t measure speed, cadence, or weight lifted, it measures the effort put in.

Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) are earned based on the effort exerted by the user. Time spent in each Heart Rate Zone earns different numbers of MEPs:

The five Heart Rate Zones are:

GREY = 1 MEPs per minute (50% to 59% of Effort)

BLUE = 2 MEPs per minute (60% to 69% of Effort)

GREEN = 3 MEPs per minute (70% to 79% of Effort)

YELLOW = 4 MEPs per minute (80% to 89% of Effort)

RED = 4 MEPs per minute (90% to 100% of Effort)

The fastest way to earn MEPs is to reach higher zones during your workouts, which reward you with more MEPs per minute. To reach the 1300 milestone, you will need to earn approximately 44 MEPs per day during the month of June.

Don’t have a Myzone yet? Don’t worry. We sell them for a reduced price to members at our fitness desk. Myzone belts typically retail online for $149, but the JCC offers them to members for a cost of only $90. Once you have one, you can track your progress on the Myzone app and see your efforts real-time on one of the Myzone-enabled screens throughout the fitness center.
