About You

Describe yourself in three words.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.

What's one thing you couldn't live without?
Tell us about someone you admire.
My grandfather. He passed away in November of 2020. We were always close but during his battle with cancer, we were able to get to know each other even better. He was the strongest person I've ever known. Nothing scared him. He put his family first and loved us unconditionally. He was never fearful at the end of his life and that inspired me to live each day to the fullest. I can only hope that one day I can look back on my life and have no regrets just like he did.
Where's is your favorite place in the world?
Anywhere on the water.
Dogs or cats?
Mostly dogs, but all animals really
What is a cause or charity you are passionate about and why?
Animal rescue. I love spending time with animals who are in need of attention and love while waiting for their forever homes. So many animals are in need of homes. It makes my heart happy to give my time to them and spread awareness about animal adoption.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
Travel around the world.  Then,  I would buy land on a lake somewhere, build a house, and rescue all the dogs, ducks, pigs, donkeys, horses, whoever needed a home.
My phone is filled with pictures of:
Marley and Alex, my dogs. Also, random birds that I spot in trees so I can try to identify them later.

Passion for Pilates

What attracted you to reformer pilates?
Every form of exercise that I was doing was going to hurt me eventually. I was looking for something that I could do safely forever.
Why did you want to become certified?
I have always loved pilates for myself. it felt right to become certified so I could share my passion with clients.
What can reformer pilates provide clients that other exercises may not?
Pilates can offer a safe and effective way to move your body. it offers strength, stability, stretching, and stamina all in one session. It will build core strength that will eventually help to heal chronic joint pain, muscle imbalances, and weakness. It's also really fun and can be done at any age.
Who is a good candidate for Reformer Pilates?
Everyone. No matter age, injury, or physical fitness level.
What are some common misconceptions about Reformer Pilates?
That pilates is the same as yoga, or that it is only for women.
What would you like people to know about taking reformer pilates with you at the JCC?
Pilates has changed my life. I believe in it. In my thirties, I am the strongest I have ever been because of pilates. I want to share my passion with my clients at the JCC. It'll be fun and you'll be amazed at what your body is capable of.
