Both locations offer dynamic and engaging programming for your middle school campers. Register by the week and create your own summer. Come just one week, or all eight! 

Taglit campers focus on a specialty topic in the morning then hang out, swim, and enjoy activities and programming in the afternoon. 

Camp hours are 9:00 AM - 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday.  Before and after care is available at both the Uptown and Metairie locations.

JCC membership is required to enroll your child in camp.

Registration for Summer 2019 opens to all on February 15.

Uptown Taglit Camp Schedule

June 3-7: Tennis

Campers spend mornings at an off-site tennis court where they will play matches and receive guided lessons from a tennis pro. In the afternoon, campers return to the JCC to eat lunch, swim, and enjoy other classic camp activities.

June 17-21: Adventure Trips

Adventure field trips challenge our oldest campers to build confidence, leadership, teamwork skills, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Trips include New Orleans Ninja Camp, the New Orleans Boulder Lounge, Blue Bayou Water Park, and more. 

June 24-28: Challenge Island ® Fort Island Camp ™ (Fortnight Creations)

Floss on over to CI’s royally popular Fort Island Camp! You and your squad will ride your balloon bus into into an unforgettable computer-and-violence-free adventure inspired by the world’s most popular game. You’ll build walls, stairs, and STEAMtastic shelters; you’ll land in Slanted Towers, Treasure Lake and your other Fort Island-hotspots; you’ll design your own skins, practice your favorite dance moves, and make up some new dances of your own. This Challenge Island Camp Royale promises to be a Slurp-Juicy Kids-Choice experience!

July 15-July 19: Maccabiah Color War

In this competition traditionally played during summer camp, campers of varying ages are divided into six groups to face off against one another in pursuit of becoming the Maccabiah champion. Taglit campers gain leadership skills by assisting counselors in planning, executing team-building exercises, and helping guide their younger teammates to victory. Our oldest campers also have the opportunity to undertake the most difficult color war challenges.

July 22-July 26: Challenge Island ®Wizardry Camp ™

After the Spectacular Success of our Challenge Island Wizardry Camp, kids begged for more. So we have brewed up a brand new and magical week of spellbinding adventure! You and your STEAMwarts Housemates will take a full load of Wizarding Classes from Transfiguration to Flying Broomsticks to Charms and Potions to Magical Beasts. The camp will culminate with a graduation ceremony before you sail your enchanted boats back to the Muggle World.

June 10-14: Challenge Island ®Wizardry Camp ™

Welcome to Challenge Island’s® Original Bestselling Wizardry Camp™! Our broom-riding tribes will take on spellbinding challenges from designing magic wands to building STEAMwarts castles to mixing up mystical potions and adventures. This epically popular camp is every bit as magical as it sounds – a must for every Wizard fan!

June 17-21: Adventure Trips 

Go on an Adventure every day!  Each day we will go on a field trip to explore and have fun including a trip to Blue Bayou water park.

June 24-28: Culinary Arts

Create delicious dishes with Chef Scot Craig from Katie's Restaurant.  Campers will learn how to prep, cook, bake and keep the kitchen clean before indulging in the delectable meal they made themselves!

July 1-July 5: Maccabiah Color War

Compete with your teammates in friendly, fun competitions.  This week is all about camp spirit and sportsmanship!  Get ready for everyone's favorite week of camp!

July 8-July 12: Crime Scene

Solve a mystery using fingerprints, trace evidence, impressions and more.  By the end of the week, campers will be solving crimes like pros.  

July 15-July 19: Challenge Island ® Fort Island Camp ™ (Fortnight Creations)

July 22-July 26: Adventure Camp with an overnight 

Outdoor adventures await.  Campers will learn about camping outdoors, setting up tents, outdoor cooking and survival skills.  To top the week off, campers will go on an overnight camping trip.
 

Before & Aftercare

After Care Hours: 3:15 - 5:30 PM 

Begin and end the camp day with extra fun and structured activities.  Campers will receive an afternoon snack. 

Taglit campers age 11 and older may sign themselves out of the camp program at the end of the day with parent permission.
