challenge our oldest campers to build confidence, leadership, teamwork skills, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Trips include New Orleans Ninja Camp, the New Orleans Boulder Lounge, Blue Bayou Water Park, and more. 

July 15-July 19: Maccabiah Color War

In this competition traditionally played during summer camp, campers of varying ages are divided into six groups to face off against one another in pursuit of becoming the Maccabiah champion. Taglit campers gain leadership skills by assisting counselors in planning, executing team-building exercises, and helping guide their younger teammates to victory. Our oldest campers also have the opportunity to undertake the most difficult color war challenges.

July 22-July 26: Challenge Island ®Wizardry Camp ™

After the Spectacular Success of our Challenge Island Wizardry Camp, kids begged for more. So we have brewed up a brand new and magical week of spellbinding adventure! You and your STEAMwarts Housemates will take a full load of Wizarding Classes from Transfiguration to Flying Broomsticks to Charms and Potions to Magical Beasts. The camp will culminate with a graduation ceremony before you sail your enchanted boats back to the Muggle World.

June 3-7: Creative Arts

Taught by local artist and illustrator Mandy Hernaez, campers concentrate on sustainability and the impact that creativity and art can have on real-world issues. 

June 10-14: Challenge Island ®Wizardry Camp ™

Welcome to Challenge Island’s® Original Bestselling Wizardry Camp™! Our broom-riding tribes will take on spellbinding challenges from designing magic wands to building STEAMwarts castles to mixing up mystical potions and adventures. This epically popular camp is every bit as magical as it sounds – a must for every Wizard fan!

June 17-21: Adventure Trips 

Go on an Adventure every day!  Each day we will go on a field trip to explore and have fun including a trip to Blue Bayou water park.

June 24-28: Culinary Arts

Create delicious dishes with Chef Scot Craig from Katie's Restaurant.  Campers will learn how to prep, cook, bake and keep the kitchen clean before indulging in the delectable meal they made themselves!

For people with Alzheimer’s, the present can be very confusing, but music from their past can be a great source of comfort. Loyola students recorded a 50s styles radio show for our ACE participants.
