In the spirit of MLK Day we are going to partner with the NOLA Grannies to prepare care kits for the Grannies to distribute at the Greyhound Station to asylum seekers passing through New Orleans. The NOLA Granny group set up a program at the local Greyhound Bus Terminal to distribute "care kits" filled with non-perishable food, toiletries, diapers and toys for the children. It is their hope that they can show these weary travelers that there are people here in the U.S. who truly do care.
You do not have to be a senior or a woman to participate. All are welcome. Your donation will help cover the cost of the kits we assemble. Bring your lunch; desserts and coffee will be served.
RSVP to Rachel Ruth at rachel@nojcc.org by Monday, January 13.

Stressed? If you're feeling it, chances are your child is feeling it too. You know the signs; when your mind starts racing and your heartbeat starts racing, your tendency is to get louder and faster. But what you and your body and your child need is for things to slow down and start making sense.
