Film Screening: Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go-Round by Director Ilana Trachtm

In honor of Black History Month, join us for Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go-Round, the untold story of America’s first organized interracial civil rights protest. When five Howard University students were arrested for sitting on a segregated Maryland carousel in 1960, local Jewish residents joined Black students in picketing Glen Echo Amusement Park. Through rare footage and personal stories, this film reveals the courage and solidarity that helped ignite the Civil Rights Movement.
