


Award-winning local chef Alon Shaya presents Lessons of a Cookbook, an exploration of recipes salvaged from Holocaust survivors. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste a featured recipe from a survivor’s family cookbook, connecting with the powerful stories and traditions behind each dish. Students studying Holocaust studies from Loyola University will lead the discussion and Q&A with Chef Alon, offering their unique insights and facilitating a deeper understanding of the evening’s themes. An accompanying Holocaust exhibit in the auditorium will provide a further look into the legacy of survival and remembrance.
