Mike Dillon is a world-renowned percussionist, composer, and “punk jazz provocateur” known for his fusion of jazz, punk, and experimental sounds. With a career spanning decades, Dillon has pushed musical boundaries through his dynamic performances and fearless creativity. A longtime New Orleans fixture before relocating to Kansas City, he founded the New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium, a bold project that blends raw energy with intricate percussion arrangements.
For this special Jazz Fest performance at The Uptown JCC, Mike Dillon brings his New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium featuring Jason Marsalis, Stanton Moore, and Earl Harvin. This powerful 15-piece percussion ensemble will perform original compositions, offering an electrifying, high-energy experience led by one of today’s most innovative musical minds.
