During this talk we will learn about the history and continued programing of The First 72 +, a re-entry non-profit committing to ending the cycle of incarceration through the leadership and wisdom of formerly incarcerated people themselves. Tali Hastings, program administrator, will go through the barriers formerly incarcerated communities face upon being released from prison to highlight the importance of re-entry nonprofits in filling public service gaps. She will use individual stories of formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrating into society in New Orleans to speak on the extending effects of the prison industrial complex in the United States. Join us for a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Jeff before the lecture begins.
