In this lecture, Frank Perez will survey New Orleans' fascinating LGBT+ history and explore what makes New Orleans queer history unique.Highlights include the role of gay men in preserving the French Quarter 100 years ago, Gay Carnival and Southern Decadence, and the tragic Up Stairs Lounge arson.
