Fitness Facilities

The New Orleans JCC offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment for both cardiovascular and strength training. These areas of our facilities are open to Gold members ages 16 and older or teens who have completed our Teen Fit program. 

Effective July 13, 2020: Every individual in Louisiana shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial establishment or other building or space open to the public, whether indoor or outdoor. Face coverings must be worn by all customers, including while engaging in exercise activities. (Refer to guidance provided for the Face Covering Order for specific information regarding Proclamation Number 89 JBE 2020.)

Enhanced Safety Procedures

Members must complete a waiver prior to using the facility. Print and complete at home to save time, or fill one out after you check in. The parent or guardian member must complete prior to a minor's use of the facility.

Before your visit, please review for information about how we are keeping staff and members safe. We have also established rules specifically for fitness center users:

  • For accurate capacity tracking, each individual who is coming to workout out must have their own reservation at our Uptown facility.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face covering when entering and moving throughout the facility.
  • Some equipment is unavailable to ensure social distancing.
  • Towel service is suspended, so please bring your own sweat towel for personal use.
  • Lockers, showers, steam rooms, and saunas are closed. Please come ready to exercise and leave large bags and valuables at home.
  • Wipe down fitness equipment before and after each use.
  • Disinfected cleaning bottles will be provided to each member.
  • Staff will regularly clean and disinfect machines and surfaces throughout hours of operation.


To manage capacity, reservations are required to use the cardio and weight room at our Uptown facility. 

  • Gold members can book one hour of gym time per day.
  • Reservations are available up to two days in advance.
  • Book your time based on the primary area you plan to use (cardio or weight room).
  • Fitness floor staff may allow you to use other areas of the fitness center if capacity is available. 
  • Members should come dressed to workout to maximize exercise time. Changing areas are not available.

As we reach the end of 2020, a year that has been filled with disruptions and uncertainty, we are glad to welcome a holiday about light and celebration. Chanukah is all about looking for beauty and celebrating life’s miracles. To honor that tradition, we’ve put together eight fun facts about the New Orleans JCC.


Jewish Community Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Jewish community is partnering with Tulane Medical School students for a holiday food drive for CrescentCare, a New Orleans clinic that offers comprehensive health and wellness services to the community, advocates for empowerment, safeguards the rights and dignity of individuals, and provides for the public. 


JCC Diaper Drive October 5 - 9

As we move into the joyful celebration of Sukkot, the New Orleans JCC is pleased to partner with the Junior League Diaper Bank for a week-long diaper drive to help those who are most vulnerable.


Cathy and Morris Bart Jewish Cultural Arts Series Events Announced

This year, the Cathy and Morris Bart Jewish Cultural Arts Series will feature four feel-good movies shown in socially distant screenings at the Uptown JCC. In addition, three authors will speak in virtual book events held in partnership with the Nashville and Memphis Jewish Community Centers.
