Fitness Facilities

The New Orleans JCC offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment for both cardiovascular and strength training. These areas of our facilities are open to Gold members ages 16 and older or teens who have completed our Teen Fit program. 

Face coverings are required (covering nose and mouth) at all times unless fully vaccinated. Face coverings are strongly encouraged while engaging in exercise activities indoors. Physical distancing (6 feet of separation) is encouraged. For the safety of children, face coverings are required while entering and exiting Uptown and Metairie facilities as well as common spaces outside of the fitness centers. Masks are required in all areas occupied by New Orleans JCC Nursery School and Pre-K.

GUIDELINES FOR USING THE FITNESS CENTER

Enhanced Safety Procedures

Members must complete a waiver prior to using the facility. Print and complete at home to save time, or fill one out after you check in. The parent or guardian member must complete prior to a minor's use of the facility.

  • Metairie facility
    • Masks are REQUIRED in the First floor Entryway including Foyer, Hallways, Locker Rooms, and Gymnasium, Locker Rooms, Gymnasium; and Elevator, Stairwells, Second floor hallways, and Second floor stair landing area.
    • Masks are ENCOURAGED in the Second floor fitness areas, including: Weight Room, Cardio Area, Walking Track, Group Ex Studio, and Cycling Studio; and Outdoor Spaces including: Parking lot, Back Field, and Pool Deck

Fitness and Aquatics Centers

  • Beginning Monday, May 31, no reservations will be required for the cardio and weight rooms.
  • Reservations are still required through Sunday, May 30 for cardio and weight rooms Monday-Friday from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
  • Reservations are still required for group exercise, indoor and outdoor lap swimming, pickleball, and basketball. 
  • Wipe down fitness equipment before and after each use. Disinfected cleaning bottles will be provided to each member.
  • Staff will regularly clean and disinfect machines and surfaces throughout hours of operation.
  • Towel service is suspended, so please bring your own sweat towel for personal use.

Locker Rooms

  • Both fitness and family locker rooms are open for use.
  • Social distancing is encouraged while in the locker rooms.
  • Bath towels will be available to Gold members at the fitness desk for showering only.
  • Saunas, steam rooms, and whirlpools remain closed at this time. 
  • Laundry services remain suspended at this time.

Reservations

Beginning Monday, May 31, no reservations will be required for the cardio and weight rooms.

  • Reservations are available up to three days in advance.
  • Reservations are not required during off-peak hours (Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM) 
  • Book your time based on the primary area you plan to use (cardio or weight room).
  • Fitness floor staff may allow you to use other areas of the fitness center if capacity is available.
