JCC Health Club Renovation

THE SECOND-FLOOR LOCKER ROOMS WILL REMAIN CLOSED FOR THE DURATION OF THE RENOVATION.

What improvements are coming?

The project includes a complete renovation of the second-floor men's and women's locker rooms, creating more modern, comfortable, and accessible wellness spaces to better serve our members and strengthen our community. Improvements include:

• Fully renovated locker rooms and lounge areas with updated finishes and improved layouts
• Five showers in both the men's and women's locker rooms
• Expanded thermal suites in both the men's and women's locker rooms - including a larger sauna, larger steam room, and new cold room for recovery
• A new ADA-accessible, gender-neutral changing room suitable for visitors accompanied by a caregiver

What is the timing of the project?

Construction began in August 2026. Renovations will continue through April 2027, with the newly renovated health club spaces scheduled to reopen in time for the summer season. The second-floor locker rooms will remain closed for the duration of the project.

Can I still work out and swim? Which spaces are affected? 

All fitness facilities and pools will remain open throughout the renovation. The primary impact will be the closure of the second-floor men's and women's locker rooms. Construction crews will access the work area through a Jefferson Avenue gate near the outdoor pool. During this time, the first-floor family locker rooms will remain open to serve members.

Will there still be showers, bathrooms, and changing facilities available?

Members will still have access to showers, restrooms, and changing facilities, including:

• First-floor men's and women's locker rooms (near the gym), each with two showers and a restroom
• First-floor men's and women's locker rooms near the indoor pool (recommended for families), each with one shower and a restroom
• Third-floor restrooms

Will towel service be available?

Towel service will continue throughout the renovation. To help ensure availability, towels will be distributed at the front desk and limited to one sweat towel and one shower towel per member. If you plan to also swim, please bring your own pool towel.

Will locker service be available? 

No locker rental service will be available during the renovation. Day-use locks will be available at the front desk for the first-floor locker rooms; overnight use will not be permitted.

How will the JCC keep members updated on progress?

Members will receive regular updates leading up to and throughout the renovation via email, social media, our website (nojcc.org/renovation), and signage. We will continue to share timely progress updates, important notices, and any temporary changes as the project moves forward.

How can members support the project?
