Driver's Education

Is your teen ready to learn to drive? The Lingle Driving Academy is coming to the JCC to prepare teenagers for the challenges of the road. Over four days students will complete the 30-hour classroom training portion of the 38-hour course. Registration, payment, and communication regarding necessary permits is handled by Lingle Driving Academy.

9 am - 5 pm
$600 per student | Members and non-members

Required Documentation

Before you attend any upcoming driver’s education class, you will need to apply for a Class E Temporary Instructional Permit at any local DMV location (per R.S. 32:409.1 and R.S. 32:410). 

  • Bring the following to the Office of Motor Vehicles to obtain a Temporary Instructional Permit for Driver’s Education:
  • Original or state-certified birth certificate (no photocopies) and another primary document or two secondary forms of identification. 
  • Social Security Card
  • School Enrollment Form (obtained from current school)
  • Original or Court Certified Custody Papers (if applicable)
  • Legal Custodial/Domiciliary Parent/Guardian with their driver’s license or state ID card
